RoboCop Storyline

In a near future, the Motor City known as Detroit slowly becomes the spawn-ground for Crime as a gang of Cop Killers goes on the rise. Private organism, Omni Consomer Products (OCP) eventually seizes control of local law enforcement to ensure a secure an Urban pacification program. Just assigned to the Metro West Precint, Officer Alex Murphy is massacred to death by this gang, as his partner Anne Lewis is barely able to do nothing. At the same time, a young visionary executive, Bob Morton, seizes the chance when the ED-209 law enforcement Droid shows lack of perfection by killing a fellow executive to create the Perfect Cop. The near death Murphy is used as the subject. With his memories erased, he is resurrected as Robocop, the future of law enforcement. As he sweeps away with crime, case by case, he eventually becomes involved with the Cop Killing Gang, and Anne Lewis herself. All of this, triggering his dormant memories of his past life as he searches for who he really is, and uncover a conspiracy going deep in OCP with the Senior Vice President himself.

ED 209 is short for Enforcement Droid 209.
After Clarence was taken to the precinct, he spits blood onto the table demanding for a phone call. This was not in the script but was improvised on the spot by 'Kurtwood Smith' (qv).
The entrance to the OCP building in the movie is actually the front entrance of Dallas City Hall with extensive matte work (by 'Rocco Gioffre' (qv)) above to make the building appear to be a giant skyscraper.
'David Cronenberg' (qv) was one of many directors who was offered and subsequently turned down the position. Ironically, 'Peter Weller (I)' (qv) played the lead in Cronenberg's _Naked Lunch (1991)_ (qv), in which Weller appeared in lieu of reprising his role in _RoboCop 3 (1993)_ (qv).
RoboCop's gun, referred to in the script as an Auto-9, was a modified Beretta M93R: The barrel was extended and modified to resemble a casket. The weapon has two fire modes, semi-automatic and three-round burst, the latter giving it its reference name, because when bursts are fired in quick succession the weapon seems automatic, though M93Rs are not automatic.

Joe Cox: [Joe pulls up in a stolen car] First, I get out of jail for free, then look what I found in the prison parking lot: a 6000 SUX with the factory sticker still on it.
[seeing Clarence and Leon drive up in another 6000 SUX]
Joe Cox: Hey Clarence, what you got there?
[seeing Clarence take out a Cobra Assault cannon]
Joe Cox: Whoa, a new toy. Can I play?
Clarence Boddicker: Watch this.
Joe Cox: Wait, wait Clarence.

Emil: [taking the launcher from Clarence and blowing up a store with it] I like it.
[Joe tries to take the launcher from Emil]
Emil: Hey, little butthole faggot get your own!
Clarence Boddicker: [gives Joe another launcher and both him and Emil blow up random things, then Clarence uses the GPS map to find Robocop] He's at the steel mill. Let's go.
Leon Nash: [yelling to Emil and Joe] Alright, cut the horseshit! We're moving out.
Clarence Boddicker: Emil, Joe, go in the van.
Kaplan: I don't like it either Reed, but listen.
Sgt. Reed: You listen to me, you asshole! You're talking about shutting down a major metropolitan police force! Without cops, this city would tear itself apart!
RoboCop: Let the woman go, you are under arrest. [Draws his gun]
Hophead: You better back-up, pal.
Creep: He's gonna kill her. He's gonna kill her. [RoboCop tries to subdue the suspect without hurting the woman] He's gonna kill her. [RoboCop shoots through the woman's skirt and the suspect's crotch, and the suspect crumples to the ground screaming in pain]
RoboCop: Your move, Creep.
Creep: Okay, okay
Rape Victim: Oh god. Thank you. Oh, thank you.
